I. THE LINES
3 lines are included - with a total journey time of about 40 minutes. It is worthy to mention that a real connection between the 23 and the 28 is included. However, as far as the design of the lines is concerned, there are weaknesses - especially on line 23.
Let's start with the positive: both lines that already existed in the LOTUS simulator - i.e. 27 and 28 - look very good! There were (or still are) some minor details missing, such as street lamps along 3 stops (this problem has been fixed in the meantime!), but nothing that is overly tragic. It would be nice if they could still fix some bugs here and there or do the mentioned detail work - but we are optimistic about that.
Line 23, on the other hand, is difficult. On the one hand, the more countryside section (in the direction of Schwabing Nord) is brilliantly designed and it really gives a completely new flair. However, as soon as you get back to the city - in the direction of Münchner Freiheit - this beautiful flair fades and is overshadowed by empty places, missing buildings and AI bugs. But the good news is: ViewApp has recognised their weakness there. As soon as possible, line 23 is to be raised to the level of the 27/28 and the detail work along the two lines is also to be improved.
All in all, one can already be very satisfied with what one gets. The lines all have potential for improvement, but they are also very enjoyable in their current state.
II. THE TRAM
The R2.2b is a widely spread, modernised vehicle, which shaped the Munich cityscape for decades and actually still does - with the Avenio. The choice of that tram is therefore very well done in our opinion. And the implementation of the tram is also good. What we dislike a little are the sounds from about 25 km/h and the somewhat blurred textures on the control panel, where the lever is also attached. But these are both small things, otherwise the tram is - as already mentioned - really well done!
III. WEATHER & SEASONS
With Munich came the new feature of weather or seasons! A very, very nice enrichment for the TramSim, which should also be transferred to Vienna soon.
However, there is hardly anything to say about both features. They are simply brilliantly implemented and once again bring more fun to the simulator!
IV. OTHER THINGS
The performance is also worth mentioning. Unfortunately, it is worse than in Vienna. If you believe the Discord of TramSim, this is mainly due to a memory leak, which is of course difficult to verify. To be honest, we don't even want to. It would be much more important to us that this problem is fixed as soon as possible. On weaker systems, it can otherwise lead to major problems.
On the other hand, the feature with the wheelchair users is nice. They work well for the most part and this feature also enriches the game. Furthermore, ViewApp's update policy is to be praised.
As a conclusion, we could say that TramSim Munich still has a wonderful future, but only if they manage to fix the weaknesses along the 23, to further optimise the AI traffic and also to take care of some other minor bug fixes. Nevertheless, we are of the opinion that TramSim Munich is worthwhile even at the present time.
