After more than a year of waiting, Hamburg City has finally arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S today. However, anyone checking the fleet after purchase might initially be puzzled: The DLC does not include a new Hamburg bus. Is this a gap—or is there a deliberate model behind it that can specifically avoid an old OMSI problem?

PC players have already been driving it for a week, while the garage on consoles has remained closed until now. That changes today: The Ebus 2.2 is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S—but will the console version run smoothly from the start, or will problems still appear during the first trips?

Berlin had previously been the terminus for console players of The Bus. Today, after more than a year of waiting, the door to Hamburg finally opens – and the console version already launches with significantly more content than the original PC DLC. Which lines can you drive, and which buses are ready for service in Hamburg?

With London South, The Bus is leaving Germany for the first time and is immediately getting seven real TfL lines. However, there is one important catch: Only two of them are supposed to be fully drivable at release. We explain what will happen to the remaining lines and how large London will actually be at launch.

Just two days after the major Update 1.2 and the release of the Ebus 2.2, TML Studios already has to make improvements. The new hotfix fixes several errors at once – including a particularly curious one: Apparently, it could actually rain inside the new electric bus.

Console players of The Bus will have to wait one week longer – but on September 2 they will get three major pieces of content at once. Alongside the new Ebus 2.2, Update 1.2 and the Hamburg City DLC will also be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The new Ebus 2.2 has already been released for The Bus on PC, but its range has suddenly become contradictory: Officially, both 350 and 600 kilometers are being mentioned. At the same time, it is now clear when the DLC will appear on PS5 and Xbox – and why console players will have to wait an extra week.

Today is the day: the Ebus 2.2 launches for The Bus. After months on the roadmap and several previews, the new fully electric city bus arrives on August 26 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S – on exactly the same day as gamescom begins. And if you are in Cologne, you do not have to settle for screenshots: you can actually drive the new bus yourself at the TML and Aerosoft booth.

New buses, new maps, real route networks, timetables, sounds, AI modifications and even entirely new vehicle models: The Bus Steam Workshop is growing at a remarkable pace. At the time of our latest check, Steam already lists 2,028 community items. From our perspective, that is overwhelmingly good news. Games such as OMSI 2 and Euro Truck Simulator 2 have demonstrated for years how valuable an active modding community can become for a simulation. TML appears to have recognised exactly that – and The Bus could benefit enormously in the long term.

Hamburg is finally opening up to console players: The Bus – Hamburg City is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S during September 2, 2026. Only a few months after The Bus itself arrived on consoles, players will therefore be able to leave Berlin behind and drive through virtual Hamburg for the first time.

This is a bus that probably needs very little introduction. For decades, the Mercedes-Benz Citaro has been part of everyday public transport in countless places. School journeys, commuting, railway stations or city centres – huge numbers of people have either travelled on one or at least encountered one regularly. That immediate recognition now appears to be working inside The Bus as well: just over five weeks after release, the free Citaro O530 mod has already reached 6,848 Steam Workshop subscribers. And only days before gamescom, it provides an interesting reminder that players do not only want the newest electric buses – they also want vehicles they personally remember from everyday life.

The open August window is history: From 26 August 2026, we can drive the fully electric Ebus 2.2 in The Bus ourselves – simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Four variants cover solo and articulated buses, while two HD cameras can replace the classic exterior mirrors if desired. Will looking backwards become the biggest adjustment at this new driver’s cab?

The first routes for London South in The Bus are confirmed, Westminster and Lambeth will be part of the map and the expansion is planned for 2027. Since the announcement, however, we have repeatedly received the same question: which buses will we actually be able to drive there?

The Bus is leaving Germany for the first time. Halycon Media has announced London South, a new DLC recreating large parts of South and Central London. Seven routes, three real depots, more than 16 kilometres of roads and over 200 individually created buildings have already been confirmed. Only routes 2 and 507 will be fully driveable at release, however.
