SubwaySim 2: Update 10 launches on August 13 – but there are no new routes or trains!

A two-digit update number, months of development work and an unusually long list of changes: Update 10 initially sounds almost like an expansion for SubwaySim 2. Anyone hoping for a new route or an additional train will have to adjust their expectations, however. So what will we receive on August 13 instead?

Months without a date – SubwaySim 2 finally ends the wait for Update 10!

For months, the community knew that Update 10 was supposed to be huge – but one crucial answer was always missing: when would it actually arrive? That question gradually became a source of frustration. Now the uncertainty is finally over, and for the first time we know when one of SubwaySim 2’s most important free updates will actually launch.

Driver’s seat installed, switches in place: Nuremberg’s G1 is becoming drivable in SubwaySim 2!

A new city for SubwaySim 2 would already be a major mod. But Daniel, also known as SirLegendaryKudo, is simultaneously building Nuremberg’s matching metro train himself. The modern VAG G1 is not only intended to roll along the route as an exterior model, but to become a separate vehicle with a cab, doors, displays, sounds and IBIS. The latest progress is small but important: the driver’s seat is in place, and the newly modelled switches now sit precisely in the desk. How convincing does the workplace look so far?

Subway Sim 2: This mod couples A3L92 and HK together – because why not?

Can’t decide in Subway Sim 2 whether you would rather drive the A3L92 or the HK? Then a modder now has a pretty simple answer: Just drive both. The Kombinatorik mod couples both vehicles together and sends this unusual train formation through Berlin. Realistic? Rather questionable. Funny? Definitely.

Is this underground railway actually a tram? Why Frankfurt could be an overlooked Train Simulator Classic hidden gem!

When we think of an underground railway, many of us initially picture tunnels, fully separated tracks, and trains that rarely interact with the surrounding streets. Frankfurt only partly fits that image. Its trains disappear beneath the city centre but return to the surface across large parts of the outer branches. Train Simulator Classic recreates precisely this contrast—could the Frankfurt add-on therefore be even more interesting to tram enthusiasts than to traditional metro fans?

Update 10 is close to completion and a new Berlin route remains secret: Will U2 become the next major SubwaySim 2 DLC?

Many of us are no longer waiting to find out whether Update 10 is coming, but when it will finally be released. The new roadmap now shows that numerous tasks have been completed and the package is in the middle of testing, optimisation, and final polishing. At the same time, a considerably larger future topic remains open: Which new Berlin subway route will expand SubwaySim 2 later?

Nuremberg instead of Berlin and Hamburg? The G1 train for SubwaySim 2 makes you really curious!

SubwaySim 2 has so far mainly stood for Berlin and Hamburg, but with the mod project “Sim Of U-Bahn Nürnberg,” SirKudo_3D is working on a significantly larger Nuremberg project. Not only the G1 train of VAG Nuremberg is planned, but also the implementation of the U1 route. There is no release date yet, but the current progress already shows how seriously work is being done on the project. Could Nuremberg become one of the most exciting community projects for SubwaySim 2?

SubwaySim 2 clearly beats Train Life in peak players: Does the small subway niche work better than the big railway promise?

Subway sounds smaller at first than big railway, less open, less wide, less spectacular. But exactly the comparison between SubwaySim 2 and Train Life shows that a narrow niche can sometimes work stronger than a broader railway promise. According to SteamDB, SubwaySim 2 stands at 81.5% positive reviews and an all-time peak of 1,191, while Train Life stands at 63.4% positive reviews and a peak of 407. Is a clear subway simulation sometimes more convincing in the end than a game that promises more railway world?

Why players need to feel seen – especially with SubwaySim 2 Update 10, this is important now!

When is Update 10 for SubwaySim 2 finally coming? Players keep asking us this question right now, and in my opinion, exactly this shows a topic that is much bigger in the simulation industry than one single update. Because often it is not only about players wanting new content immediately, but about whether they feel seen at all with their questions, worries, and impatience?

1,191 players are enough for their own scene: Why subway simulators seem small, but have loyal fans!

Subway simulations are not mass monsters on Steam. According to SteamDB, SubwaySim 2 reached a peak of 1,191 concurrent players, Metro Simulator 2 reached 113, and even the specific Gisela DLC already collected 41 reviews shortly after release. At first glance, that sounds small. But maybe these numbers tell so much exactly because of that about a niche that does not have to be huge to be loyal. Why are subway fans so strongly attached to tunnels, lines, and certain vehicles?

Flexity on the Oberbaum Bridge? With this Subway Sim 2 mod, you can suddenly even drive AI vehicles yourself!

The Kombinatorik mod for Subway Sim 2 does not only make unusual vehicle combinations possible. With it, you can also drive vehicles that are actually only out and about in the game as AI vehicles. Of course, they are not perfectly modelled, because they were never intended as full player vehicles. But that is exactly what makes it appealing: Why not simply try out a Flexity tram on the Oberbaum Bridge?
