Fernbus

We constantly see rain in driving simulations – but how much of it do we actually feel at the wheel? With Update 35, Fernbus Simulator turns precisely that into a new driving mechanic: Road surfaces and weather now affect vehicle grip, while ABS, ASR and traction control are also being reworked. Does bad weather finally make a coach journey genuinely more difficult?

Our coach does not only drive to a ferry port. It rolls directly onto the rails and is carried to England by train. In the first official teaser for the England DLC, TML-Studios confirms that we can cross the English Channel in two ways: traditionally by ferry or, more surprisingly, by train.

That makes the journey itself one of the expansion's most interesting elements. The DLC launches first on PC in September 2026, followed later by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. TML has not yet revealed whether we can freely select the crossing or how much of the loading and train journey will be playable.

The long-distance coach segment is becoming really interesting right now. While SCS Software is making the upcoming Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 increasingly visible, a project appears in German games funding that immediately catches attention: Fernbus Simulator 2 by TML Edition, meaning TML Studios. Coincidence – or is TML preparing the next major step in the coach segment?

Fernbus Simulator has been critically discussed in the simulation scene for years, sometimes mocked, and often compared with newer TML projects. The Bus feels more modern, more current, and more urban, but according to SteamDB, Fernbus Simulator is slightly ahead in the percentage rating: 72.65% compared with 71.34%. Is the old Fernbus game perhaps more stable than many want to admit today?

The old comparison between Fernbus Simulator and Tourist Bus Simulator gains new sharpness with current SteamDB numbers. Fernbus Simulator is clearly ahead of Tourist Bus Simulator in reviews, owner estimates, followers, and current activity. Still, the matter is not quite that simple, because Tourist Bus brings its own concept with an economy system and Fuerteventura setting. So why is Fernbus clearly ahead on Steam – and what do the reviews in particular reveal about the reasons?
