The open August window is history: From 26 August 2026, we can drive the fully electric Ebus 2.2 in The Bus ourselves – simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Four variants cover solo and articulated buses, while two HD cameras can replace the classic exterior mirrors if desired. Will looking backwards become the biggest adjustment at this new driver’s cab?

The first routes for London South in The Bus are confirmed, Westminster and Lambeth will be part of the map and the expansion is planned for 2027. Since the announcement, however, we have repeatedly received the same question: which buses will we actually be able to drive there?

Anyone with a heavily modded OMSI installation knows the problem: files get overwritten, HOF files end up copied into countless bus folders and eventually nobody remembers which mod changed what. Can a proper mod manager finally make this old copy-paste chaos easier to control?

Two new bus simulators are arriving only months apart, yet their concepts are surprisingly different: Bus Bound puts a strong focus on driving and changing a city through your routes, while Bus Simulator 27 even lets you play as a driver, inspector or passenger – which approach sounds more interesting to you?

Anyone running OMSI 2 with large maps, extensive bus packages, lots of AI vehicles and high-resolution textures should at least know about one small utility: the 4GB Patch by NTCore. Our recommendation is straightforward: if you run OMSI 2 on a modern 64-bit Windows installation, it is worth checking whether the patch has already been applied.
Despite its name, it does not give your PC another four gigabytes of physical memory, nor does it turn OMSI 2 into a 64-bit application. Instead, it changes a property of the executable so that the 32-bit application can access a larger virtual address space on a suitable 64-bit system.

Dense road traffic, numerous pedestrians and several AI buses make an OMSI city feel busy. On demanding maps, however, the same scenery can consume a significant amount of the available performance.

AUXI Expansion 1.50 targets precisely this problem. A new performance scaler monitors frame rate and memory use before automatically adjusting the amount of AI traffic. It sounds like a major performance fix – but the reality is more nuanced.

You install a new OMSI map, start it and suddenly find roads and buildings missing – or almost nothing except blue sky. That is often when the most frustrating part begins: which object package is actually missing? Instead of manually searching folders and the logfile.txt, Blue Sky Tool can scan an entire OMSI 2 map and list missing files individually. And the modern successor to the well-known OMSI MapTools no longer limits itself to splines and scenery objects.

Anyone who has built a map for OMSI 2 knows that part of the challenge begins before the first bus even moves: the original map editor is powerful, but many everyday tasks demand considerable patience. This is exactly where the independently developed nEditor comes in. The project has now entered closed beta, its developer still considers a release by the end of August 2026 realistic, and the confirmed feature list has grown far beyond a more modern user interface. Could a new editor of all things noticeably change map building for the now almost 13-year-old OMSI 2?

More than 45 buses from 13 licensed manufacturers are expected to be available in Bus Simulator 27 on September 8. Just over one month before release, however, the fleet has still not been fully broken down: Solaris already has three models confirmed by name, while only the involvement of some other brands is currently known. What can already be said reliably about the actual distribution of the buses?

A new OMSI map is installed, but instead of roads and buildings we suddenly see gaps or nothing but blue sky. That is often where the tedious search for some missing object or forgotten spline begins. Blue Sky Tool was developed for exactly this situation and can even tell us which specific file is missing. But how much work can the program actually save us?

OMSI 2 costs €29.99 as a base game. Anyone who then adds all 122 expansions listed on Steam to their cart enters a completely different price category. The calculation becomes particularly complicated because of free entries, bundles and external shops that often sell the same Steam content again. How much does a genuinely complete OMSI 2 collection cost in 2026?

The Bus is leaving Germany for the first time. Halycon Media has announced London South, a new DLC recreating large parts of South and Central London. Seven routes, three real depots, more than 16 kilometres of roads and over 200 individually created buildings have already been confirmed. Only routes 2 and 507 will be fully driveable at release, however.

Did you know that you actually have to refuel your bus in OMSI 2? It sounds like a small detail—until your bus suddenly stops. And that’s when you realize: this isn’t just a gimmick, it’s part of the simulation.
