Firefighting Simulator: Ignite: Traffic accidents expand missions with rescue cutters, saws and leaks!
The Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion has been available since 21 July 2026 and is considered the largest expansion for Firefighting Simulator: Ignite to date. Instead of merely adding more fire scenarios to the mission roster, it introduces a completely new mission type: traffic accidents.
This shifts the focus considerably. While the base game primarily centers on firefighting, rescuing people from buildings, and dealing with fire, smoke and various extinguishing agents, the new missions initially require you to solve completely different problems.
An important component is technical rescue from accident vehicles. People may be trapped in damaged cars and must be freed. A new hydraulic rescue tool is used for this, among other things.
This tool can be used, for example, to force open vehicle doors or separate jammed vehicle parts from one another. Especially in accidents involving several cars, this creates a different sequence of events than in classic fire missions.
A rescue saw or chainsaw is also used. It is needed for special rescue situations when obstacles or parts of vehicles have to be removed to reach trapped people.
However, the expansion is not limited to opening damaged vehicles. Accident scenes can involve several hazards at the same time. These include, for example, leaking operating fluids.
Such leaks must be identified and sealed, so that no further liquids escape. This creates missions in which it is not simply a matter of rescuing one person or extinguishing one fire, but of dealing with several tasks in parallel.
Fires can still occur in traffic accidents as well. You may therefore first have to bring a dangerous situation under control while damaged vehicles, trapped people and leaking fluids simultaneously make the scene more complicated.
Overall, the expansion includes five new main missions. In addition, there are five new side missions that can appear randomly within the game. This means traffic accidents are not limited exclusively to a small series of predefined missions.
A dedicated training area for traffic accidents was also added for the new mechanics. There, the additional tools and procedures can be tried out before they are needed in larger missions.
It is interesting that some of the new features appeared at the same time as a free update for all players. With the Shannondale Update a new district of Oakridge City was unlocked, including the regional airport and larger industrial areas.
The freeways also became accessible as a result. In addition, the base game received a free traffic accident mission that provides a first look at the new area of operations. However, anyone who wants to use the complete selection of accident missions and mechanics still needs the paid expansion.
Firefighting Simulator: Ignite has continued to receive updates since release. On 17 September, for example, the Construction Site Mission DLC was released together with Update 9. This added more new missions, this time centered around construction sites. Several bugs and issues with AI, multiplayer and missions were fixed at the same time.
As a result, the Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion is no longer the game's newest DLC, but it remains one of the clearest expansions of the core gameplay. While many smaller additional contents mainly add new vehicles, equipment or individual missions, accident rescue fundamentally changes what tasks a mission can present in the first place.
Those who enjoy playing in co-op can also complete the new missions together. Firefighting Simulator: Ignite continues to support up to four players in online co-op, or a mix of players and an NPC crew in single-player mode.
The Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion costs 14.99 euroswhen purchased separately. It is also included in the Year 1 Season Pass and the Year 1 Edition.

The expansion therefore provides a pretty good illustration of how Firefighting Simulator: Ignite has developed since its release. Instead of simply adding more and more fire scenarios, weltenbauer. is expanding the game with areas of work that are also part of everyday firefighting and require completely different tools in gameplay.
Do you like technical accident rescue as a new area of operations—or should future expansions focus more strongly on classic firefighting again?
