SubwaySim 2 expands Berlin from today: Here’s what you get with the U4 for 8.99 euros!
The next Berlin route for SubwaySim 2 is now available. As of today, the U4 can be driven between Innsbrucker Platz and Nollendorfplatz. The new Berlin Route DLC expands the existing map with a total of five stations, four dedicated scenarios, as well as new or further developed signaling technology. The expansion normally costs 8.99 euros – after EpicDB had previously listed a price of 8.09 euros. What exactly do players get for the 8.99 euros?
The new route runs from Innsbrucker Platz via Rathaus Schöneberg, Bayerischer Platz and Viktoria-Luise-Platz to Nollendorfplatz. This implements one of the shortest lines in Berlin’s real subway network. The route can be driven in both directions and, in addition to the five stations, includes the associated tunnel areas, tracks and reversing facilities.
The U4 was not implemented as a separate Berlin map. Instead, the new tracks and stations are integrated directly into the already existing Berlin game world. Those who own the DLC can switch to the new route within the same map. This system also provides the foundation for expanding Berlin with further route expansions in the future, without creating a separate map for every new line.
The scope also includes four dedicated scenarios, in which different tasks and operating situations can be played. The U4 is also available in timetable and career mode. Dynamic passengers and AI traffic are integrated as well.
The signaling technology was also expanded or adapted for the new route. The U4 therefore differs from the existing Berlin sections not only through its new stations. The route’s operating procedures and signals were also implemented for the expansion.
Players without the DLC will at least get to see a small part of the new line. At Nollendorfplatz, the U4 also passes through the existing game world as AI traffic. However, players can only take control of the line with the paid expansion.
There had still been a different figure given for the price before release. EpicDB initially listed the DLC for 8.09 euros. The actual regular retail price is now 8.99 euros. On Steam and the Epic Games Store, there is a 15 percent release discount, bringing the expansion to around 7.64 euros during the first week. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the regular price is 8.99 euros.
The U4 was developed by Simuverse Interactive together with 3DZug. The five stations were modeled on their real-world counterparts and accordingly differ in terms of platforms, entrances, signage, materials and lighting.

Have you already picked up the U4 – and do you consider five stations for the regular price of 8.99 euros a fair amount of content?
