After 50+ Kilometers in Tramau, It’s Leaving the City: CTS 2026 Plans Its First Interurban Line for 2027!

For City Transport Simulator 2026, a major expansion of Tramau is planned for 2027. The existing map will grow by an interurban line and will thus receive a route type for the first time that clearly sets itself apart from the previous focus on urban bus and tram traffic. The expansion is already firmly part of the outlook for 2027.

So far, Tramau has primarily depicted classic urban transport. Buses and trams serve densely built-up areas, residential neighborhoods, main routes and outlying districts. With the new interurban line, this concept is deliberately expanding toward regional transport for the first time.

具体 details about the route are still lacking. The length, line number, endpoints and number of new stops have not yet been published. The precise design of the new surroundings is also still pending. This leaves open how much the interurban line will ultimately differ from Tramau’s existing network.

Larger distances between stops and longer sections outside densely built-up areas in particular would significantly change everyday driving. Instead of constant stop-and-go, the focus could shift more toward longer stretches of travel. Small towns, country roads or considerably more expansive outlying areas would also visibly expand Tramau.

There is no fixed specification for the vehicles either. CTS 2026 generally allows the existing vehicles to be used freely on suitable lines. The interurban line therefore does not automatically require its own vehicle or a special DLC. What remains decisive is which infrastructure the new route will receive and which types of vehicles can be used there.

The expansion fits in with the previous development of CTS 2026. This year, the game is growing primarily through new features, vehicles and map content. In 2027, Tramau itself will also continue to expand. In addition to the interurban line, passenger displays in operating vehicles, a photo and camera mode, as well as telemetry and Sim Dashboard support are also planned.

The interurban line announced for 2027 is not part of the current Season Pass 2026. This covers the announced content for the current year. How ViewApp will release the Tramau expansion in 2027 and whether additional costs will arise has not yet been determined.
