€69.99 for the Vienna Edition or Vienna in the Season Pass: What Do CTS Players Really Need?
With the Vienna Expansion, City Transport Simulator 2026 will receive its first real-world map on October 13, 2026. It includes tram lines 37 from Schottentor to Hohe Warte and 38 from Schottentor to Grinzing as well as bus line 35A between Spittelau and Salmannsdorf. More than 1,000 realistically recreated buildings form the surroundings along the routes.
The appropriate vehicles are also part of the Vienna Expansion. The ULF A and ULF B are available on the tram lines. Bus operations are supplemented by the C2 and the C2 articulated bus in Wiener Linien livery. Detailed driver cabs and interiors are also included.
The Vienna Expansion is therefore the option for players who already own CTS 2026 and specifically want to add the new city with its three lines. There is not yet an individual price for the expansion. Pre-orders are also not possible: The product page can already be accessed and Vienna can be added to the wishlist, but the expansion cannot be purchased until its release on October 13.
At the same time, a new Vienna Edition is being offered. It costs €69.99 MSRP and contains considerably more than just the new Vienna map. It includes both Tramau and Vienna. On the tram side, the package includes ULF A, ULF B, ULF A1, ULF B1 and R2.2b. The two Viennese C2 variants are also included, along with MAN Lion's City A21 T2 and T3, NL 205 and NG 235.
The Vienna Edition is therefore aimed primarily at players who are new to City Transport Simulator 2026 and want Tramau and Vienna together. The €69.99 is accordingly not the price of the individual Vienna Expansion, but the MSRP of this more extensive edition.
Those who already own CTS 2026 have another option – and it is already available. The complete Vienna Expansion is included in the CTS 2026 Season Pass. The Season Pass currently costs €64.99 and includes the content for 2026, including the new Vienna map.
Vienna is not the only component, however. The Season Pass includes additional vehicles and expansions from 2026. The Citybus C2K is also a 10.5-meter-long C2 that is available exclusively through the Season Pass and is not sold separately. When it was introduced, savings of up to 40 percent compared with individual purchases were stated for the complete package.
Those who already own City Transport Simulator 2026 and also want to use the other content in addition to Vienna can therefore secure the Season Pass now. The Vienna Expansion will become part of the existing Season Pass upon its release on October 13.

This leaves essentially three different starting situations before the Vienna release. Those who own CTS 2026 and only want Vienna can wait for the individual price of the Vienna Expansion. Those who already own CTS 2026 and want to use additional content from the year anyway will get Vienna through the Season Pass together with the other included expansions. And those who want to start playing with Vienna will get Tramau, Vienna and the associated larger vehicle package together with the Vienna Edition for €69.99.
Regardless of which package brings Vienna into your game, the map includes the same three real-world lines. Lines 37 and 38 start at Schottentor and run to Hohe Warte and Grinzing respectively, while 35A connects Spittelau with Salmannsdorf. Historic buildings, public squares and Viennese Heuriger areas are located along the routes. Authentic AI traffic as well as dynamic passengers and pedestrians are also included.
Vienna will finally become playable on October 13. Until then, one important piece of information remains open: How much will the Vienna Expansion cost on its own? This price in particular is likely to be decisive for players who already own CTS 2026 and are weighing an individual purchase against the Season Pass.
Do you already own CTS 2026, and would you rather buy the Vienna Expansion separately or go straight for the Season Pass? If you do not yet own CTS 2026: Is the Vienna Edition with Tramau and Vienna for €69.99 an interesting entry point for you?
