astragon Is Still Hiding ONE Simulation: A Sequel to a Popular Series Will Be Revealed at Gamescom!
astragon and Team17 will present their public games from August 26 to 30 in Hall 6, booth B-060. The known astragon line-up includes Construction Simulator: Evolution, Bus Simulator 27, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite and Seafarer: The Ship Sim. The mysterious project is instead listed in the everplay group business programme in Hall 4.2, booth B-010, where press, content creators and industry partners receive additional presentations. astragon's English announcement describes the mystery game as an exclusive hands-off presentation and global debut. A public hands-on version for regular gamescom visitors has not been announced.
And that is where the mystery begins. astragon only calls it the sequel to another popular franchise. Even the publisher's current press server still has no separate publicly visible EPK for the mystery title, while folders already exist for Bus Simulator 27, Construction Simulator: Evolution, Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, Seafarer and other known projects.
There are obvious franchises fans may immediately think about. astragon itself highlights Construction Simulator, Bus Simulator, Police Simulator and Firefighting Simulator among the central work-simulation brands in its portfolio. Construction Simulator and Bus Simulator can effectively be ruled out as the mystery because their next instalments have already been announced, while Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is also publicly known. But astragon has not confirmed which remaining franchise is returning. A new Police Simulator may sound like an obvious guess, for example, but at this stage it remains exactly that – a guess, not a leak.
That secrecy is what makes the announcement especially interesting. While many gamescom projects are revealed weeks or months before Cologne, astragon has deliberately kept an entire simulation sequel hidden until the show itself. And the publisher is hardly short of other simulation projects: Bus Simulator 27 launches on September 8, Construction Simulator: Evolution is planned for Q4 2026 and several additional simulations are already part of the company's current portfolio.
So now we are waiting for the most important details: What is the game called? Which franchise is returning? Who is developing it? What platforms are planned? And how different will it be from its predecessor? astragon has not yet announced a specific time for the world premiere, only that the presentation is part of its gamescom business programme.
That is exactly the kind of surprise we will follow closely in our gamescom live ticker. As soon as astragon officially reveals the new simulation, we will collect the important information there:

So astragon really does have one wildcard left for Cologne. We know a familiar franchise is returning. We know its sequel will make its world debut at gamescom. But we still do not know which simulation will suddenly appear. And that alone makes this one of the more intriguing surprises waiting for simulation fans this week.
Which astragon franchise do you think is getting a sequel? Which simulation would you personally like to see return? And when the game is finally revealed, what is the first thing you want to know about it?
