The Bus London South: Which Buses Will Actually Be Driving Through London?

With London South, The Bus will leave Germany for the first time and move into an environment that is very different from Berlin and Hamburg. Routes 2, 77, 88, 148, 196, 507 and N2 have already been announced for the expansion. At release, routes 2 and 507 are planned to be fully drivable, while further sections will already be present on the map. Parts of South and Central London, including Westminster and Lambeth, will also be included. But as soon as you imagine actually starting a shift there, one very practical question quickly comes up: what will actually be waiting for us when we leave the depot?

There is now a clear answer to that. London South itself is not planned to include a new bus. The map and vehicles are being handled separately. If a bus developed specifically for London is released, it would currently be treated as its own vehicle DLC rather than being automatically included with the map expansion. Buying London South therefore primarily gives players the new game world with its roads, routes and depots. An additionally developed London vehicle is not automatically part of the package.

Which bus could eventually arrive remains unknown. No specific manufacturer, model or release date has been named. It is also currently unclear whether a possible vehicle would launch alongside London South, arrive beforehand or follow later. Development information has only made clear that a British map also calls for a vehicle that fits the setting. More information on that is expected to follow.

The Bus is not completely without a left-hand-traffic option, however. The base game already includes a Mercedes-Benz eCitaro variant prepared for left-hand traffic. That means there is already a vehicle that could technically be used with London South. But that is not the same as a bus specifically designed around Britain. Certain vehicle types are part of the visual identity of London itself, and for many players the decisive question will therefore be whether typical British models are added later.
