Change Weather, Time and Trains Live: This TSW Mod Unlocks a Powerful God Mode!

Despite the name, this is not simply a traditional cheating tool. TSW God Mode, created by Foobian, is a PAK mod that adds an extra menu directly inside Train Sim World. Moving the mouse to the top edge of the screen while driving opens it. The project is still officially in alpha, with version 0.7.0 dated June 9, 2026 currently listed as the latest release.

The environment controls are probably the easiest feature to appreciate. Players can alter the date and time, cloud cover, precipitation, wetness, snow, wind, temperature and fog density. Vegetation can also be adjusted to look more autumnal or wintry. That makes the tool especially interesting for screenshots or simply experimenting with completely different conditions on familiar routes.

Runtime Timetabling goes much further. It provides an interface for spawning complete formations or individual rail vehicles and routing them towards markers or portals. In other words, additional trains can be placed into the running game without first creating an entirely new timetable.

There are also much more technical tools. God Mode provides access to many Train Sim World console commands, can open the route map in a separate resizable window and can display debugging information for signals, timetables and level crossings. The Material Probe even allows material parameters to be viewed and edited in real time, with some textures exportable or replaceable.

That means the mod is not aimed only at players wanting to experiment with weather or train spawns. A large part of it is intended for modders, including its own logging system, debugging tools and utilities for working with materials and add-ons.

Installation itself is relatively simple. The correct PAK file is copied into the DLC directory of the relevant Train Sim World installation. There are separate downloads for TSW 2/3, TSW 4 and TSW 5/6. The current TSW 5/6 package is listed for Steam and Epic Games.

Version 0.7.0 also simplified route support considerably. God Mode is now intended to work universally on current and future routes, with TSW 4 remaining an exception. Livery Designer support has also been added, although it is unavailable in TSW 4 and the Microsoft Store version.

The project page does not provide an equivalent PlayStation or Xbox installation. Its downloads and installation instructions are built around PC PAK files, so this should not be presented as a console mod.

The alpha label is still worth taking seriously. The developer continues to describe God Mode as an alpha project, and several features are clearly aimed at technical users rather than being polished gameplay options. But that is also what makes it interesting: God Mode effectively turns Train Sim World into a much more flexible toolbox than the standard menus normally allow.
