Passengers now really walk to the bus: TruckersMP changes ETS2 after more than 10 years!

The Heavy Vehicles Turkey Coach Bus has officially been available in TruckersMP for two days. This means something is happening in ETS2 multiplayer that is much bigger than a normal vehicle release. TruckersMP is not simply putting a coach bus on the road, but directly connecting it to a new passenger system.

The most important question is therefore: Do passengers now really board your bus? According to TruckersMP: yes. Passengers wait at bus stations and stops, move toward the vehicle, board one by one and prepare for their journey. They are therefore not just a number in a menu, but part of a visible process.

That is exactly what changes the feel of the game. Until now, TruckersMP has mainly been a truck experience: accept a job, pick up a trailer, drive the route, deliver it. Add to that convoys, busy roads, well-known hotspots and the typical multiplayer chaos. With the new bus, a second rhythm now appears: choose a service, drive to the starting point, wait for boarding, depart on time, serve stops and complete the bus service properly.

At the center of this is the new TruckersMP Bus Job Dispatcher. Through this system, players can create and operate passenger services directly in TruckersMP. No additional software is supposed to be required. That is an important difference compared to many previous solutions, because bus transport is not only handled through external tools, but integrated directly into TruckersMP.

The entry process is easy to explain. Players open the Player Panel with Tab, select the bus icon, choose a route in the Bus Job Dispatcher, drive to the starting point and start passenger boarding there. Only after that does the actual service begin. This makes the journey feel less like free driving with a bus across the map and more like a real job with a clear process.

The driver’s performance also plays a role. TruckersMP mentions rewards based on performance as well as statistics such as punctuality and service quality. So if you take on a bus service, you are not supposed to simply arrive somehow. Clean driving, timely arrival and a properly completed service become part of the new system.

The technical side is important as well: The Coach Bus is automatically downloaded through the TruckersMP Launcher. Players therefore do not have to manually install a separate mod. Especially in multiplayer, this is crucial because all players need the same foundation. If the bus comes directly through the launcher, the entry barrier becomes much lower.

Still, it is important to classify exactly what we are talking about. This is not the official Coaches DLC from SCS Software for the normal ETS2 base game. That DLC is still in development. This is about TruckersMP, the large multiplayer layer for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Within this system, however, the bus is now officially available and connected with dispatcher, passengers, routes and rating.

That is exactly why this release is so important. For years, TruckersMP was the place for classic truck driving, long motorway routes, Duisburg–Calais, events and convoys. Now official passenger transport is being added for the first time. Anyone who wants to keep driving trucks can of course continue to do so. But anyone who finally wants to transport people instead of freight in ETS2 now has a real entry point.
