25 licensed trucks – how big is the Euro Truck Simulator 2 fleet really?

When you start Euro Truck Simulator 2, you often begin quite simply: a quick job, some borrowed truck, the first delivery, perhaps without paying much attention to brand, cabin or engine. But this exact fleet is one of the reasons why ETS2 has remained relevant for so many years. The game does not only offer a European map, but a wide selection of officially licensed truck brands.

Officially, seven manufacturers are at the center: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scania and Volvo Trucks. The ETS2 homepage currently mentions 26 unique truck models, while the About page still refers to 25 licensed trucks in one place. In the truck selector on the official page, however, 27 model entries are now displayed. So the exact number is visibly in motion – which actually fits quite well for a game that has been developed further for years.

For DAF, the selection ranges from the older XF105 and the XF to newer model lines such as NGD and XD. The official truck selector also includes the XF Electric. This means DAF shows the development from classic diesel long-distance transport to newer and electrified approaches particularly well in the game.

Iveco is represented with the Stralis, Stralis Hi-Way and S-Way. This also covers several generations: from the older Stralis to the more modern S-Way. Especially for players who do not always want to choose the major community favorites Scania or Volvo, Iveco remains its own brand within the fleet.

For MAN, we find the TGX Euro 5, the TGX Euro 6 and the newer TGX. Here, too, it is easy to see how ETS2 has grown over the years: older models remain in the game, while new generations are added. This makes the fleet feel less like a single moment and more like a cross-section of different truck years.

Mercedes-Benz is represented with the classic Actros and the New Actros. For many players, Mercedes has been a firm part of the ETS2 feeling for years, especially because the Actros is so present in European long-distance transport. In the game, this creates a clear choice between an older and a more modern Mercedes generation.

For Renault Trucks, the selection is particularly broad. The official selector includes Premium, Magnum, T, T Evolution and E-Tech T. This ranges from older Renault classics to the electric E-Tech T. The Magnum in particular is a very distinctive vehicle for many players, while the T range represents more modern Renault long-distance transport.

Scania is one of the brands that is perceived especially strongly in the ETS2 fleet. Officially listed are R 2009, Streamline, R, S and S BEV. This means Scania is represented not only with classic diesel models, but also with a battery-electric entry. For many ETS2 players, Scania remains one of the most emotional brands in the game, also because of sound, tuning and long-distance looks.

Volvo Trucks is also strongly represented. The official truck selector lists FH3, FH4, FH5 and FH6. Especially Volvo is closely associated by many players with powerful engines, long-distance journeys and heavier transports. The different FH generations show well how the fleet has continued to develop over the ETS2 years.

But the model name alone is only half the story. ETS2 lives from the fact that almost every truck can be further customized. The official page lists cabins, interiors, chassis, engines, transmissions, exhausts, side skirts, mirrors, paint jobs, tires, rims, light bars, additional lights, beacons, bull bars, sun visors and horns as possible customization areas, among other things. One model can therefore become many variants – from a simple fleet truck to a heavily personalized long-distance vehicle.

That is exactly why the ETS2 fleet feels larger than a pure number can express. 25, 26 or even 27 entries in the selector are only the foundation. On top of that come cabins, axle configurations, engines, paint jobs, tuning parts and DLC extensions. For many players, it is not only important which truck they drive, but how they configure it: small entry truck, heavy 6x4 tractor, show truck with light bars or sober company truck for their own fleet.

The time span has also become interestingly broad. ETS2 does not only include current or modern vehicles, but also older models that have become less common on real roads. This creates a kind of drivable truck history: old Renaults, older Actros and FH generations, classic Scania models, modern TGX and DAF models as well as the first electric trucks.

For Euro Truck Simulator 2’s core audience, this is extremely important. The truck is not just a tool, but the home on the road. We spend hours in the cab, see the dashboard, hear the engine, look into the mirrors and gradually build up our own fleet. A broad licensed fleet is therefore not a side detail, but one of the most important reasons why ETS2 works in the long term.

In the end, looking at all manufacturers shows quite clearly how big ETS2 has actually become. It is no longer just about “driving a truck through Europe.” It is about brands, generations, cabins, chassis, engines, tuning, electric trucks and your own fleet as part of player identity. And that is exactly why the figure of over 25 licensed trucks is not just a statistic, but a core part of the whole game.
