More than 50 years on Poznań’s streets – why is RailWorld bringing these legendary 105Na trams back digitally?

The developers of RailWorld: Tram Simulator have announced that the legendary 105Na trams will soon be running through Poznań. Not in real tram traffic, but in the simulator. For many fans, that is still a special moment, because these vehicles are disappearing from the real cityscape for good after more than 50 years.

The 105Na, often referred to in Poland as “Stopiątki”, covered millions of kilometres and carried millions of passengers over several decades. It was not simply a vehicle, but part of everyday life in many Polish cities. That is exactly why its digital return does not feel like just another tram content, but like a conscious preservation of transport history.

It is also exciting that RailWorld apparently is not planning only one single version of the 105Na. The developers speak of a wide range of modifications intended to show different modernisation phases. That fits the real history of this tram: In Poland, these cars were repeatedly adapted over decades – from traction systems and appearance to interior rebuilds and modern passenger information.

For RailWorld, this is a strong step. Poznań is not only getting another vehicle, but a tram that truly fits the city. When we later drive through the streets, the 105Na will not feel like a random bonus, but like a piece of real Poznań public transport.

There was also new information about Zajezdnia Forteczna. The depot is set to appear in the near future as part of the future route of line 12. This means RailWorld is growing not only in terms of vehicles, but also in its operational environment.

In the end, this announcement is strong mainly because it does not only show a new model. It shows that RailWorld also wants to give disappearing vehicles a digital place. While the 105Na leaves everyday life in Poznań in reality, it can continue running in the simulator.
