Fuel prices in Germany are currently rising noticeably again and are causing tangible additional costs in everyday life. Especially in the transport sector, it quickly becomes clear how much such developments can weigh. Many people know the feeling at the gas station – but what about in the simulator? Can you actually feel these rising prices in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as well?

Current fuel prices are once again sparking discussions in Germany. At around €2.275 per liter, the level is noticeably high and affects not only car drivers but also the entire transport sector. For freight companies in particular, this means rising costs – a topic that many are also familiar with from everyday life.

But this is exactly where it gets interesting for simulations like Euro Truck Simulator 2. While the game generally uses fixed, rather static prices, there is now a way to get much closer to reality.

A mod does exactly that: it brings current, real fuel prices from all over Europe directly into the game. What makes it special is not just the adjustment itself, but above all its timeliness. The mod is updated weekly – usually on Wednesdays – so you are always relatively close to real market prices.

For Germany, this currently also means around €2.275/L, while other countries vary significantly. The Netherlands, for example, is at €2.589/L, France at €2.314/L, and Austria at €2.075/L. At the same time, there are also major differences on the lower end – for example in Poland at €1.811/L or in Turkey at €1.371/L. These differences are then directly noticeable in the game as well.

Important to know: The mod only changes the actual cost of refueling, not the displayed prices on the gas station signs. These remain unchanged, as they are stored as fixed textures in the game. Functionally, however, this makes no difference – you still pay the adjusted price.

Another advantage: The mod can be used with all DLCs and works across multiple versions, currently including versions from 1.48 to 1.5.x of ETS 2. This makes it easy to integrate into existing profiles.
