Retro map for OMSI continues to grow: Cologne-Porz 186 with new impressions!

The OMSI map currently under construction, Cologne-Porz 186, has made visible progress over the past weeks. After around six weeks, a new update has now been released with several images from the current development status. One thing becomes clear very quickly: the project has by no means stopped, but has visibly grown in several areas.

One focus currently lies on the area around line 134, which starts at Depot North and runs towards Ebertplatz. Historically particularly interesting: at that point in time, there was not yet a line 16 along Amsterdamer Straße; instead, only tunnel pre-construction work already existed there.

The new images show, among other things, several sections along Amsterdamer Straße, the stop areas in the northern and southern directions, as well as the route via Boltensternstraße to the terminus. Well-known points such as Friedrich-Karl-Straße, today Neven-DuMont-Haus, as well as the stops Kinderkrankenhaus, Flora / Amsterdamer Straße, Worringer Straße and Reichenspergerplatz are already visibly implemented.

Especially the area around Flora / Amsterdamer Straße and the Zoo Bridge already seems to have a high recognition value, even if according to the developer some surrounding areas currently still appear rather raw and are to be expanded further.

The next direct target has been named as Ebertplatz. Exactly this area is to be further implemented. At the same time, a small section of line 148 in Riehl has already been started.

The developer is still sticking to the plan of wanting to release the map by the end of this year at the latest. How far the expansion will go by then remains open, but the current images already show that the project is taking shape step by step.
