Berlin Line 186 Announced for OMSI 2: How Do You Get a €5 Discount If You Already Own the X10 Add-on?

With the upcoming release of the add-on OMSI 2 – Berlin Line 186, there is an interesting additional piece of information for many players that goes beyond the content itself. Anyone who already owns the OMSI 2 Berlin X10 add-on can save money when purchasing the new line.

The background is a promotion by Halycon Media that allows existing owners to purchase the new add-on at a reduced price. Specifically, the price advantage is around five euros compared to the regular standalone purchase. A measure like this is by no means standard, since in many cases earlier content does not provide a direct price benefit for new expansions.

To ensure that as many players as possible can benefit from this promotion, the system has been deliberately designed to be open. The key factor is not how the original X10 add-on was purchased, but simply that a valid proof of ownership is available.

Anyone who already owns the Steam version of Berlin X10 receives the discount automatically. A corresponding bundle will be shown in the Steam library, allowing Line 186 to be added directly at the reduced price. The process is fully integrated and requires no further steps.

A solution has also been provided for players with a physical version. In this case, proof is required—specifically, a photo of the first handbook page with a clearly readable key. This must be sent by email to Halycon’s support team. After successful verification, a Steam key for the X10 add-on will be provided, which then also grants access to the discounted bundle.

Buyers of a download version outside of Steam are also included. Here, the existing setup key can be submitted in order to convert it into a Steam key. After this conversion, access to the discounted purchase of Line 186 is likewise available.

It is important to note that each key can only be used once, and verification may take some time depending on the number of requests. Incomplete or unreadable submissions cannot be considered. The entire promotion is also time-limited and runs until December 31, 2026.

With this approach, Halycon Media ensures that as many previous buyers of Berlin X10 as possible—regardless of platform or purchase method—can benefit from the discount. Especially in the simulation genre, where content is often expanded over many years, such an approach is a sign of actively involving existing players.

Here you can read it again directly from Halycon Media and follow exactly this procedure as soon as Berlin Line 186 is released: https://www.halycon.de/news/besitzer-…e-186/1909.html

Do you already own the Berlin X10 add-on? Will you get Line 186? Do you think discount promotions like this are important? Should more developers treat existing players this way?
