A hidden gem tram simulator – Elektronka: Bratislava!

Elektronka: Bratislava lets players drive trams through the real tram network of Slovakia’s capital city. Instead of a fictional map, the game focuses on a real urban environment and iconic trams that operate in Bratislava today.

The gameplay goes beyond simply driving from stop to stop. Players must handle tasks such as connecting tram sets and switching turnouts, which are real procedures in tram operations.

One interesting detail is that real tram drivers participated in the development of the simulator. Their experience helped the developers recreate authentic driving behavior and operational procedures.

The sounds used in the game were also recorded in cooperation with Dopravný podnik Bratislava, the public transport operator in the city. This means the trams in the simulator should sound very close to their real-life counterparts.

Players can choose between different game modes, including a career mode where smooth driving and staying on schedule are rewarded. Experience points can unlock new tram sets and routes. A free mode will also allow players to explore the city at their own pace.

The developers are currently preparing a demo version featuring the well-known T6A5 tram, which players will be able to try in the Krasňany depot before its reconstruction. Since the game takes place in the present day, modern Škoda trams are planned for the future.

That’s exactly why Elektronka: Bratislava feels like a hidden gem. It might not be a huge blockbuster yet, but projects like this often bring a lot of passion and detail.

Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones you find off the main road.
