MOZA shows technology that could completely change simulations!

At the developer conference GDC, a new technology was presented that focuses exactly on this. The idea is easy to explain: your simulator automatically recognizes what is happening in the game – and reacts to it with movements and vibrations.

That could mean simulations suddenly feel very different.

Many simulators provide so-called telemetry data, for example information about speed, braking force, or vehicle movement. Motion systems use this data to create movements in the cockpit. However, this only works with games that actually provide this data.

The new software takes a different approach. Instead of telemetry, it analyzes the image and sound of the game in real time. This allows it to detect when a vehicle accelerates, brakes, drives over a bump, or collides with something. These events are then directly translated into movements and vibrations in the simulator.

This means that physical feedback could theoretically also become possible in games that previously had no support for such systems.

This could be especially interesting for fans of vehicle simulations. Imagine driving a heavy truck through a narrow construction site or braking your bus at a stop. Road bumps, braking maneuvers, or turns would not only appear on the screen but could also be physically noticeable.

At the same time, a new motion platform was also introduced that can actually move simulator cockpits. This platform can simulate tilting, vertical movements, and vibrations in order to reproduce typical vehicle movements. Until now, such systems have mainly been known from professional simulators or very complex home setups.

The combination of intelligent software and motion hardware could ensure that such effects work with many more games in the future. This is particularly interesting for simulations that previously had only limited support for motion systems.

Of course, many questions still remain open. How expensive such systems will be, how well the AI actually works, and how many games will be compatible with it will only become clear over time. What is clear, however, is that this technology shows the direction in which simulations could develop.

And maybe we are only at the beginning of a new generation of simulator hardware.
