After criticism of previous releases: Aerosoft announces a new simulator – can Forensics: Crime Scene Detective impress players?
Aerosoft, together with Binary Impact and Alchemical Works, has announced a new simulation title called Forensics: Crime Scene Detective.
In this game, players step into the role of forensic specialists investigating complex criminal cases.
One interesting aspect is the cooperation with the State Criminal Police Office of Rhineland-Palatinate (LKA RLP). The developers aim to portray forensic investigation work as realistically as possible.
The gameplay focuses on logic and analysis rather than action. Players examine crime scenes, collect evidence and reconstruct events based on forensic data.
According to the developers, the cases are inspired by real investigative scenarios. Instead of scripted solutions, players must evaluate evidence and draw their own conclusions.
The process resembles real forensic work. Players first explore crime scenes such as apartments, basements or bars. Even the smallest traces can matter – including fingerprints, blood patterns or data stored on smartphones.
Afterward, the investigation continues in the laboratory. Evidence is examined through DNA analysis, ballistic comparisons and digital forensics. Only by combining all pieces of information can a possible suspect profile emerge.
The release is planned for 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, making it one of the first forensic investigation simulations available on consoles.
However, one question naturally arises: can this game really succeed?
Some of Aerosoft’s recent simulator releases received mixed reactions from parts of the community. In some cases players felt that the projects did not fully meet expectations.
This makes the concept of Forensics: Crime Scene Detective particularly interesting. On paper, the idea appears quite different from traditional simulators. Instead of controlling vehicles, the gameplay revolves around analysis, deduction and investigative thinking.
Personally, the concept sounds promising. If implemented well, a forensic investigation system could offer strong long-term motivation. Every clue could matter, and every overlooked detail could change the outcome.
The biggest challenge will be execution.
Games like this rely heavily on atmosphere and immersion. The feeling of slowly solving a case, understanding a crime scene and discovering hidden details is often the key to making such experiences compelling.
For now, it is too early to judge the final result. But from a conceptual perspective, the project certainly looks intriguing.
Ultimately, the success of the game will depend on giving the development enough time and avoiding a rushed release.
Because in simulations based on logic and details, the difference between a good idea and a great game often lies in the final polish.

What do you think of the idea behind the game? And how do you like the implementation in the pictures so far? Are you more optimistic about this game than about the other games released by Aerosoft in recent months?
