Bus routes in TruckersMP? A new project aims to bring passenger transport to ETS2 multiplayer!

Sometimes the most interesting projects appear quietly in the background. This one only came to our attention thanks to several hints from the community. And it could add an entirely new type of gameplay to the ETS2 multiplayer world.

In Euro Truck Simulator 2 multiplayer, the focus has traditionally been on cargo transport. Convoys of trucks driving across Europe are the standard image many players associate with TruckersMP.

However, a new project aims to expand that concept by introducing passenger transport.

TruckersMP has announced a partnership with Heavy Vehicles Turkey, a modding group that has been creating ETS2 vehicle modifications since 2011 and has built a strong reputation within the Turkish simulation community.

Together they are working on adding a coach bus to TruckersMP, allowing players to transport passengers across Europe instead of cargo.

The planned vehicle is a 13-meter coach bus with 41 seats, designed for intercity travel. In terms of gameplay, the system will go beyond simply driving the bus.

Players will be able to create and operate bus routes directly in the game. Passengers will wait at bus stops and enter the vehicle one by one. In addition, statistics such as punctuality will influence the payout for each trip.

This creates a new gameplay loop. Instead of transporting cargo between companies, bus drivers would follow routes, stop at stations and manage schedules.

Another important aspect is integration. The bus will be automatically downloaded via the TruckersMP launcher, just like any other multiplayer update, meaning players will not need to install additional third-party tools.

Previously, many players relied on DBus World to create bus routes in ETS2. The new system aims to provide a native multiplayer solution.

The developers also emphasize that they are not trying to replicate potential future content from SCS Software. Instead, the focus is on expanding the multiplayer experience – something that community-driven projects can deliver particularly well.

The exact release timeline is still unknown, but development is already underway.
