Will The Bus have multiplayer on consoles – or is it PC-only?

Multiplayer has become a major feature for many simulation games. Driving together, meeting other players on routes, or operating transport lines simultaneously adds a whole new layer to the experience.

Because of that, many players looking forward to the console version of The Bus have been asking whether the game will support multiplayer on PlayStation and Xbox. Some are also wondering if crossplay between PC and console could be possible.

The current answer is straightforward. Multiplayer in The Bus is only available on PC.

This also means that crossplay between PC and console versions will not be available. Console players will not be able to join multiplayer sessions with PC players.

Decisions like this are not uncommon in game development. Multiplayer systems require stable server infrastructure, synchronization across players and often platform-specific adjustments. For complex simulation games this can represent a significant technical challenge.

For console players this does not mean the entire experience is limited. The core gameplay, the city map and the bus operations remain part of the console version. Only the shared online driving experience remains exclusive to PC players for now.

Whether this could change in the future remains unknown. Simulation games often evolve over many years. But for now the situation is clear: multiplayer exists only on PC.

Would you like to see multiplayer in the console version of The Bus? Do you currently play The Bus on PC? Is multiplayer important to you in simulation games?
