ETS2 is rebuilding Benelux: the new truck stops look like modern DLC locations!

Every long trip in Euro Truck Simulator 2 eventually leads to the same moment: checking the fuel gauge and searching for a rest stop. Truck stops are the quiet pauses in a long journey across Europe. With the upcoming Benelux rework, these locations are receiving a major overhaul.

The goal is simple: older areas of the map should not only look better but also resemble real-world infrastructure more closely. In other words, the highways and rest areas of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg are being rebuilt to match the visual quality of newer ETS2 regions.

In the Netherlands this becomes particularly visible. Along the A8, a modernized service station has been added that fits naturally into the surrounding urban environment. Another stop is located near IJmuiden close to the North Sea ports, featuring updated signage and contemporary architecture.

One of the highlights appears along the A28 where a futuristic eco-style fuel station is being introduced. Inspired by the Netherlands’ approach to sustainable infrastructure, the location includes solar panels and a distinctive canopy design.

Truck drivers will also notice improvements at Het Lonnekermeer along the E30. The rest area now offers expanded truck parking, landscaped surroundings and a layout that feels much closer to real European highway services.

Near Liège, the Liège fuel station now reflects a more urban design, while the Lichtenbusch location along the E40 combines a fuel station with a border crossing atmosphere, highlighting the international nature of the route.

In Wallonia, ETS2 introduces French-style motorway rest areas known as “Aires.” Locations such as Aire de Verlaine and Aire de Saint-Ghislain include larger parking areas and distinct regional architecture.

Drivers traveling through the Ardennes will find the Wanlin fuel station, a smaller but charming stop surrounded by natural scenery.

Luxembourg also receives a fully modernized service station along the E421. Even though the country is small, it remains a key hub for European freight traffic, and the design reflects that importance.

For players, that means one thing above all: traveling through Benelux will soon feel far more dynamic.

No release date for the rework is currently known.

Have you driven through Benelux often in ETS2? Did you notice the older rest areas before? Are you excited for the Benelux rework?
