Glass roofs at the market & Regionalbus 421: Kalenburg in our Region Südniedersachsen map

Our Region Südniedersachsen map for OMSI 2 continues to grow. Today we present Kalenburg, located about 20 kilometers from the city Gronau and north of Ilsenburg. But what makes this district stand out?

Kalenburg has around 30,000 residents and features a historic old town. The bus route does not pass directly through the old town.

A few years ago, a road was elevated to cross a small river.

For players, only Regionalbus line 421 will be drivable in Kalenburg. It connects the district with Ilsenburg and Schlenz, both important areas within the map. Other bus services operate in the area but are run by companies that are not playable.

The main highlight is the market square with its distinctive glass roofs. We created this structure as a custom object specifically for this stop. It serves as the central transfer point to other regional lines. And sometimes, there might even be a market event in OMSI.

A small note: streetlights are currently missing on this section, but they will be added. The map remains under active development.
