ETS 2 worldwide: These three countries lead the player charts – and Germany is not among them!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is often associated with European highways and regional transport routes. However, in terms of reach and economics, it is a global product. According to Gamalytic, approximately 27.2 million copies have been sold, with estimates ranging between 20.7 and 33.7 million. Total players are listed at around 30.2 million, while total owners reach about 33.9 million.

Financially, the base game alone has generated an estimated gross revenue of 125.6 million US dollars, with a range between 95.6 and 155.6 million dollars. This figure does not include DLC sales, highlighting the scale a long-running simulation title can achieve.

Looking at player distribution by country, China leads with roughly 11.3 percent. Turkey follows closely at about 10.6 percent, and Russia accounts for around 8.8 percent. The remaining 69.3 percent is spread across numerous other countries. Germany does not appear among the top three individual markets.

These figures underline ETS 2’s international character. While the setting is European, a substantial portion of the community is located outside central Europe. The game’s economic and community footprint clearly extends far beyond its thematic core.

When did you start playing ETS 2, and did you expect China, Turkey and Russia to represent the largest individual markets? How do you explain the strong presence outside Europe? Did you know how high the estimated sales of the base game are?
