OMSI 2 has long been associated with German bus operations and urban environments. Many of its maps and vehicles reflect this focus. According to Gamalytic, approximately 484,700 copies have been sold, with an estimated range between 329,100 and 640,300. Total players are listed at 617,500, while overall owners stand at around 688,900.

Looking at the country distribution, Germany represents about 30.3 percent of the player base. The United Kingdom follows with roughly 9.9 percent, and France accounts for around 6.2 percent. The remaining 53.6 percent is distributed across numerous other countries worldwide.

These figures indicate that Germany is clearly the largest single market for OMSI 2. However, more than half of the player base comes from outside Germany. OMSI 2 has therefore evolved beyond a purely national niche and established a broader international audience, even if its thematic roots remain strongly German.

Overall, the data confirms a strong domestic foundation combined with significant global reach.

When did you start playing OMSI 2, and did you expect Germany’s share to be around one third of the total player base? Are you surprised that over half come from other countries?
