Drive a public bus in Euro Truck Simulator 2 – completely free of charge? ETS2 becomes a bus simulator: This is how D-Bus World works!

D-Bus World is a bus driving mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2 that integrates buses and scheduled routes into the base game and compatible maps. Created by Domcek and Etrusan, the first open beta was released around April 2021. Unlike simple vehicle mods, D-Bus World requires registration, as player progress is stored on its website. The structure resembles virtual trucking companies, but tailored to bus operations.

Initially supported buses included the Solaris Urbino 12, Karosa 95x, Iveco Evadys and Bolloré Bluebus SE. The mod works not only on the official SCS base map but also on several popular map expansions such as Île-de-France, Central Bohemia Project, Rheinland & Pfalz Map, Grand Utopia and ProMods. It is compatible with TruckersMP and even includes the city of Grunwald from the OMSI series as a standalone map.

Content-wise, the scope is significant. The SCS base map offers more than 25 routes across over 15 cities. Île-de-France features 12+ routes in 6 cities, Bohemia 10+ routes in 5 cities, Rheinland & Pfalz around 15 routes in 8 cities, Grand Utopia 8+ routes in 4 cities and ProMods more than 40 routes in over 30 cities. In total, there are 50+ active lines and more than 1000 active drivers within the community. Players can join virtual bus companies, communicate and compete on global leaderboards.

Getting started is straightforward: register, connect your Steam account and begin driving. Instead of freight logistics, the focus shifts to stops, schedules and structured routes. ETS2 remains a truck simulator at its core, but D-Bus World clearly expands its scope toward passenger transport.
