Are You Above the ETS 2 Average Playertime?

Euro Truck Simulator 2 remains one of the most established titles in the simulation genre. With ongoing expansions and updates, it maintains an active and visible community. But how much time do players actually invest?

The average playtime across all ETS 2 players is around 116 hours. This indicates that many players go well beyond a brief trial. Over one hundred hours typically mean building garages, expanding fleets, exploring multiple DLC regions and completing numerous deliveries across Europe. It suggests sustained engagement.

However, the median playtime tells a slightly different story. At 28.5 hours, half of all players remain below that figure. As with many simulations, a dedicated core group accumulates hundreds or even thousands of hours, while a larger portion experiences the game more moderately.

This creates an ambivalent overall picture. ETS 2 is clearly not just a short-lived experience, given its average playtime. At the same time, it does not show the same level of extreme long-term concentration among heavy users that some other simulators display. Instead, it reflects a balanced mix of casual and long-term players.

If you have logged several hundred hours, you are well above the statistical middle. If you are closer to 20 or 30 hours, you align closely with the median player. Both segments define the overall community structure.

Compared to OMSI, the difference becomes visible. OMSI’s average playtime is significantly higher, while its median remains similarly low. This suggests that OMSI has a smaller but extremely dedicated core base pushing the average upward. ETS 2, in contrast, appears more evenly distributed.
