Average OMSI playtime revealed: Are you above or below average?
How much time does the OMSI community actually spend in the game? Is it something people try for a weekend, or a simulator that stays with them for years? Looking at official Steam data reveals a clear and rather fascinating pattern.
The average playtime of OMSI 2 sits at around 263.1 hours. That is a significant number. Hundreds of hours suggest repeated routes, mod installations, map testing, timetable experiments and long-term dedication. It clearly shows that there is a very committed group of players who invest serious time into the simulator.
However, there is another number that changes the perspective. The median playtime – meaning the middle value across all players – is only 25.8 hours. This indicates that half of all players have played less than that amount. The average is therefore strongly influenced by a smaller group of heavy users who accumulate hundreds or even thousands of hours, while many others experience OMSI for a much shorter period.
Together, these figures paint a distinct picture. OMSI is not a uniformly played mainstream title. Instead, it has a passionate core community that stays engaged for years, alongside a large number of players who explore it briefly. That contrast is what makes the statistics so interesting.
If you have 300, 500 or even more than 1,000 hours logged, you clearly belong to the dedicated segment of the community. If you are closer to 20 or 30 hours, you are statistically much nearer to the middle. Both groups shape the overall picture – just with very different levels of intensity.
Now it’s your turn: How many hours does Steam show for you? Are you above or below the average? Do you still actively play? When did you start? Did you spend more time driving or using the editor? And which add-on kept you busy the longest?
Share your playtime in the comments. It will be interesting to see how our community really compares.
