It’s been in Train Sim World for years – but hardly anyone talks about it: The Bakerloo Line: A hidden Underground classic in TSW!

Some add-ons appear and fade away. Others quietly remain part of the Train Sim World ecosystem for years. The Bakerloo Line of the London Underground is one of those long-standing additions. Introduced in Train Sim World 2, it remains fully compatible with Train Sim World 6 today. But what exactly makes the Bakerloo Line so special, and how can you ride it in TSW?

Personally, I’ve always found the London Underground fascinating. The system combines historical infrastructure, dense urban traffic and unique operational characteristics. The blend of deep tunnels, surface sections and constant service makes it distinct from traditional mainline railways. That fascination translates directly into the simulator.

The Bakerloo Line, opened in 1906, features 25 stations—15 underground and 10 above ground. Running from Elephant & Castle to Harrow & Wealdstone, it offers a mix of tight central tunnels and suburban stretches. This contrast provides operational variety within a single route.

Operations are handled by the 1972 Mark 2 Tube Stock, currently the oldest stock still in regular Underground service. Its camshaft control system differs significantly from modern electric multiple units, requiring careful handling and precise station stopping. With over 640 timetable services, the add-on reflects the intense commuter rhythm of London’s Tube network.
