Coaches DLC adds height with the Volvo 9700 Double Decker!

With the upcoming Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, another coach will be added to the game that immediately stands out due to its design: the Volvo 9700 Double Decker. As the name suggests, this vehicle is built with two levels, making it visually distinct from standard long-distance coaches.

The Volvo 9700 DD is commonly seen in real-world long-distance services, particularly in Northern Europe. It is designed for high passenger capacity and extended motorway journeys. This concept is reflected in the game, where the coach offers seating for up to 96 passengers and measures approximately 14.3 meters in length. With a height of around four meters, it has a strong presence on the road.

Inside, the focus is on flexible configuration. Seating layouts, curtains and other interior elements can be customized, allowing different operating styles.

In terms of specifications, the Volvo 9700 Double Decker will be available in a 6x2 configuration. Various driver assistance systems are included to support stability and safety during long journeys within the simulation.

On a personal note, clearly marked as my own opinion: I simply really like how this coach looks. The double decker design gives it a bold and modern appearance, and it stands out clearly from other buses currently available in ETS 2.

The Volvo 9700 DD adds a visually distinctive option to the Coaches DLC and expands the range of long-distance vehicles available in the game. The release date of the DLC has not yet been announced.
