After several announcements about new features that SCS would like to include in their truck simulation Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the next update, the corresponding update was launched into open beta a few days ago.
One of the big innovations is the reskin of the French city of Lyon. Here, many older objects and textures have been replaced, so that vegetation and road layout look more realistic.

In addition, the toll booths have received another rework in this update. Here tolls, speeds, road signs, and many other minor changes and adjustments were made.
For all those who like to look at the regions of ETS2 is also something in this update. A total of 35 new viewpoints have been added across the map.
Furthermore, the Iberia DLC has received new country roads that have not yet been repaired.
In addition, there are new routes for all heavy transport fans, which can be driven.
Another new feature for all ETS players who like to drive their own trailers is the new dumper trailers, which can now be purchased at the trailer dealer. They can be used to transport debris such as soil gravel, sand or even barley, wheat, wood bark or scrap metal.
In this update, the developers have also devoted themselves to interior sounds. Thus, sound effects that simulate the muffling of ambient noise and the sound of the truck engine and wheels have been implemented here. To better simulate how the engine, wheel, and other external sounds are muffled when driving from the first-person perspective, the sounds of the interior cabin have been updated here.
Lastly, the update introduces the so-called SDF (Signs Distance Fields) fonts. This technology allows texts and fonts to be displayed sharply at any resolution and scale.
This improves the clarity and resolution of the Convoy nameplates, GPS, license plates, and truck dashboard.
